Reading Road Trip
Grades K-6
Each month from November – June, the Library will highlight
a different region of the United States.
- Register at https://wethersfieldlibrary.beanstack.org/
- Visit the Children’s Department to add your car to our highway and pick up your map.
- Stop in any time during each month to collect your road trip “supplies”.
- Complete at least 2 of the activities each month to earn prizes!

First Steps in Music

BOTH CLASSES ARE FULL
Mondays: 3/23, 3/30, 4/6, 4/20, 4/27, 5/4 (no class 4/13) OR Thursdays: 3/26, 4/2, 4/9, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7 (no class 4/16)
Interactive music class designed for children and caregivers to attend together. Enjoy songs, creative movement, group activities and games that will start your child on their journey to becoming “tuneful, beatful and artful.”

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Birth-5 years (and not yet in Kindergarten)
A fun exciting, and free way to prepare your child for learning to read!
Register online: Wethersfieldlibrary.beanstack.org OR download the app @ www.beanstack.com/mobile-app
After you register visit the library to pick up your welcome packet, brag tag and chain.
Record the titles of the books you have read on your online account. Any books count, including: books you have read more than once, books read at storytime, preschool, daycare, etc. as long as your child listens to the entire book, it counts!
Each time you read 100 books, visit the library to receive a brag tag. Other rewards include:
100 books: bunny stuffed animal
500 books: book bag
1,000 books: book of your choice and a certificate

Supplies needed:
Chocolate Turkey: Hershey Kiss, paper to make heart feet/feathers, small piece of red and orange felt (you can also use paper for this), googly eyes, glue
Turkey Balloon Rocket: Turkey coloring page (we used this one), balloon, string, straw, painters or masking tape, glue stick, crayons/markers
Thankful tree: We used this template but you can make a tree and leaves just using paper.
