Computer Classes

There will be no classes in December. Classes will resume in January. Check this page for the schedule.


We offer a variety of computer classes reflecting the requests and needs of our patrons. Any suggestions regarding the classes are welcomed.

The classes are one hour in length and space is limited so sign up early. You can sign up by calling or stopping in at the Library. All classes are held in the library and are conducted in a lecture format.

One may sign up for classes on the first day of the month in which the classes will be given.

Computer Classes | February

Monday, Feb. 13, 2:30 p.m.

Buying a New Computer. What you need when looking for a new computer in 2012. We will discuss laptops, tablets and desktop computers.

Registration is suggested.

Monday, Feb. 13, 7:00 p.m.

Introduction to Computers. Learn everything you need to know about the hardware, software and operating system (Windows 7). This class will be helpful for those brand new to computers and for anyone interested in how a computer works.

Wednesday, Feb. 15, 1:30 p.m.

How to Use the Online Library Catalog. Learn how to find books, dvds, cds and all other library materials in the online Library catalog (iBistro). Also learn how to order these books from the Library.

Wednesday, Feb. 15, 3:00 p.m.

Introduction to PowerPoint (2010). Learn to create a presentation using the world’s most popular presentation software. Powerpoint is a versatile and powerful product.

Downloadables at the Library. The 21st century library has much more than books! Learn about the free downloadable ebooks, audiobooks and videos now available online from the library.

Introduction to Photo Editing. Learn the basics of using a photo editing program. There are some basic techniques that can be used to improve all your photographs.

Monday, March 19, 2:30 p.m.

Introduction to Microsoft Word (2010). Learn everything you need to create a letter. You will be shown how to format, layout and print your document.

Registration is suggested.

Monday, March 19, 7:00 p.m.

Introduction Microsoft Excel (2010). Learn the basics of a spreadsheet program. You will be taught how to enter data and format cells.
