Reading Road Trip Rules & Registration
RULES
- Registration begins: Wednesday, June 1st (residents) & Monday, June 20th (non-residents)
- Wethersfield residents who register by Thursday, June 23rd will be eligible to win a limo ride to the kickoff with Steve, courtesy of Premier Limousine. Registration forms may be sent in, but you will need to visit the library for your reading log. Readers as well as non-readers can sign up!
- Wethersfield students entering 4th,5th & 6th grades who register by Thursday, June 23rd will be eligible to win a paperback copy of a 2012 Intermediate Nutmeg Nominee of their choice!
- Wethersfield elementary school principals will compete in a “Reading Road Trip Relay” at the grand finale but only if 125 or more students from their school register for the Summer Reading Program.
- Monday, June 27th: Begin reading at least 15 minutes per day for 6 days.
- Monday, June 27th: Summer Reading Program Kickoff with SteveSongs @ 6:30pm
- When you complete 6 days of reading, 15 minutes per day, come to the library to receive your prizes and to solve a “Reading Road Trip Riddle.”
- “READING ROAD TRIP” prizes include a paperback book of your choosing, as well as food coupons and treasure chest prizes, while supplies last.
- Please read books at your reading level.
- Participants, who are not reading on their own, may count the time spent while being read to.
- Sunday, August 14th: “READING ROAD TRIP” ends; however prizes will be awarded through Saturday, August 27th, while supplies last.
- Tuesday, August 16th: Grand Finale/ Ice Cream Social with “DJ Bob” & Wethersfield elementary school principals compete in a “Reading Road Trip Relay” (only if at least 125 students from their school register for the summer reading program).
