Library Director Position
Due to the retirement of its current director, the Wethersfield Library Board seeks a dynamic, community-focused and knowledgeable Director to lead our customer friendly, talented and dedicated staff into the future. Wethersfield Library is a department of the Town of Wethersfield with a $1.8 million budget and excellent Town government and community support. It is a member of the Library Connection computer consortium of 30 area libraries migrating to Innovative’s Sierra system. The Library is a vibrant community center with an average of 7 visits per capita and 13 loans per capita, providing a variety of programs and materials, computer access and multiple meeting and study rooms. Requirements: MLS degree from an ALA approved institution, six years of increasingly responsible professional experience in a public library including four years of supervisory experience. Salary range $90,000-$105,000. Position has an intended start date of July 1, 2014.
The Library is located in the historic and picturesque Town of Wethersfield, a suburb of 26,600 located on the Connecticut River in Southern New England on the I-91 corridor near Hartford, halfway between New York city and Boston.
